How to use your water test kit and interpret the results
Water hardness test
Take a sample of cold water from your tap.
Dip the test strip into your water sample for three seconds without moving the strip.
Remove the strip from the water.
Compare the colour on the strip to the colour chart below within 60 seconds of wetting.

Chlorine water test
Fill a beaker with 50 mL of sample water.
Dip the test strip in the beaker with a gentle back-and-forth option for 30 seconds (about two strokes per second with one to two inches per stroke).
Remove the strip and shake it once briskly to remove excess water.
Wait 30 seconds.
Fold the white plastic handle of the test strip under the aperture so that it provides a white viewing background. Compare the colours to the chart below within 60 seconds of wetting.
